Throughout the years, Kevin Hart and Associates has received recognition and several Historic Renovation Design Awards for work throughout the country.
Older buildings have taught us so much about what endures through the years and what has lasting value. When it comes to the renovation of an important structure, the strength of good design comes from a pronounced understanding of History and a reverence for existing value of that structure. Design elements of yesteryear tell the story of the house. These elements can often be saved and can dictate the lines and proportion of a newly added structure. Desired components for a restored house are most often larger master suites, larger kitchens and larger family gathering areas. The implementation of these new features requires a keen sense of stewardship, proportion, function, and sensitivity. The new structural element should not be a testament to the new architect. It should be a nod to the past, to the original dwelling. It should be like we were never there.
